Tuber Brumale var. Moscatum De Ferry

Harvest period: from November 15th to March 15th

The muscat truffle is usually small (2-8 cm in diameter) has a very dark peridium and gleba that goes from ocher to orange depending on the ripening period and white veins.

The aroma has spicy notes and a particularly strong smell, similar to that of immature hazelnuts.

It prefers deep soils, even quite clayey, compared to other truffle species, it tolerates soils with water stagnation and more acidic, such as those under conifer woods. Good, it does not have a great commercial value, but it is often sought after for its strong flavor.
