Tuber Borchii Vitt. o Tuber Albidum Pico
Harvest period: from January 15th to April 15th
The bianchetto or marzuolo truffle is a low prized truffle and is on average smaller in size.
It has a less pleasant smell than the white truffle, stronger a little spicy and with aging tending to garlicky.
The gleba is marbled with whitish and white-reddish veins on a brown-purplish or reddish-brown background.
It grows in light and sandy soils, in winter (January-March), under conifers and broad-leaved trees.
